Background
Michele Warner is an associate in our Toronto office. She graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2004 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2005. Michele was a summer and articling student at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and joined the Firm as an associate in September 2005.
Prior to her law degree, Michele studied social work at Wilfrid Laurier University, obtaining a Master of Social Work Degree. She worked in the field of child protection in British Columbia and Ontario, and from 1999 to 2001 worked in Kenya, East Africa for an international development agency. In that role she worked with local community members to develop and implement school-based programs for children with disabilities.

Professional Experience
- Michele acts on behalf of hospitals and their employees in medical malpractice and other civil lawsuits, as counsel to the Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC). In this capacity she is involved in preparing pleadings, conducting examinations for discoveries, preparing motion materials and arguing motions, attending mediations, pre-trials and trials.
- In addition, Michele represents hospitals and physicians appearing before the Consent and Capacity Board.
- She also provides general legal advice to hospitals.
