Toronto (March 5, 2010) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) earned the highest rankings in four practice areas in the 2010 Chambers Global Guide, adding one more category to the list from 2009. BLG received Band 1 ranking for the first time in the area of Public Procurement, and once again received Band 1 ranking in the areas of Dispute Resolution (Alberta), Energy (Power), and International Trade/WTO. Overall, BLG received high marks across 21 categories and 35 BLG lawyers received individual recognition for their work.
“The rankings reflect the results we deliver to our clients and BLG's commitment to provide the best legal counsel combined with the best service,” said Sean Weir, the firm's national managing partner. “I would like to congratulate our lawyers on this significant recognition.”
The annual Chambers Global Guide is a highly regarded guide to the legal profession published by U.K.-based Chambers and Partners. To determine their annual rankings, Chambers' 100 full-time researchers interview thousands of lawyers and their clients around the world, giving greater weight to client opinions. Ranking is determined by assessing qualities such as technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client. Law firms and individuals are ranked in bands from 1 to 6, with 1 being the highest ranking.
